Animals' spectacular :

The night Safari : www.nightsafari.com.sg  / 90% of the animals being nocturnal, here comes the world's first night zoo ! This is a very very good & original attraction with walking trails or tram rides around 1200 animals of over 110 species / $15.45 adults, $10.30 child (3-12) / Combine it with the zoo for $21.60 adults or $12.80 child / 19:30 to midnight / Photography with flash prohibited / Same transport as the above

Jurong Birdpark :  www.birdpark.com.sg / The world's largest walk in aviary with the world's tallest man-made waterfall. 8000 birds from 600 species. Singapore Art Museum : both traditional and modern art from Singapore and the region / $3 / Tues to Sund 9 to 18:00 / City Hall MRT

Asian Civilization Museum : discover the rich Asian culture / $3 / Tues to Sund 9 to 17:30 (21:00 on Wed)  / City Hall MRT

Singapore Philatelic Museum : for philatelists, I suppose / $2 / Tues to Sund 9 to 17:30  / City Hall MRT

Changi Prison Chapel and Museum : discover the living conditions of the prisoners-of-wars in this camp operated by the Japanese during WWII / Free / Mond to Sat 10 to 17:00 / SBS 2 from Tanah Merah MRT / Should be combined with a trip to Pulau Ubin

 

Handicraft :

Ming Village : the largest remaining pottery center in the area : watch the process, buy the result or try color painting on porcelain all by yourself / 9 to 17:30 daily / 32 Pandan Rd (Ming Village), tel : 2657711 / MRT to Clementi Station then SBS No78 or free Singapore Trolley Shuttle Service in the morning from a few hotels / Free !

Educational :

URA Gallery : www.ura.gov.sg  / If you would like to know how the city Singapore was born and raised, this interactive gallery will provide the clues : huge model of the city with a light & sound show, sky cam, train set and even a Sim City game ! / URA Centre, 45 Maxwell Rd / 9 to 16:30 Mond to Frid, 9 to 12:30 Sat / Free !

Discovery Centre : www.sdc.com.sg  / Tactics gallery, technology, jungle survival, interactive robot, virtual reality. For some however, this place is just a big propaganda to join the army ! / 510 Upper Jurong Rd / $9 ($5 children) plus $4 motion simulator / 9 to 19 or 20

 I read your description about SDC in your website. Don't think it is accurate. SDC is not 'just a big propaganda to join the army!', the main focus of SDC is about nation building and national education. We are a 'edutainment' centre where guest can discover and learn about Singapore and its' recent history. Check out our website. It was recently revamped. Cheers!  Note: I did not say it was. Suntec City : www.sunteccity.com.sg  / Free shuttle bus from Raffles Place MRT interchange (from 11 to 22:30 plus 7:30 to 9:30 on weekdays, every 10mn) 650,000 sqm "Asia's vertical silicon valley" / Fountain of wealth's laser show daily from 8pm to 10pm / Free song dedications daily from 19 to 22 / Add a free laser message over it on Frid, Sat, Sund & PH and really impress your partner ! / 

 

Natural retreats :

Bukit Timah Nature Reserve : a great morning or afternoon in one of the world's only two primary rainforest located by a city. This is also the site of Singapore's highest hill at 164m (no good panorama) and this mean that the trails aren't too flat... Bring good shoes & a towel... A 6km cycling route go around the reserve while clearly market trails let you discover the luxuriant jungle & its habitants (in particular around 3000 long-tailed macaque). Exhibits of insects or mammals (8:30 to 18) plus a water fountain are located by the Visitor Centre. This is also where you get a good map of the area / Open 6 to 18 / Bus No170 from Sim Lim Square or No171 from MRT Newton Station (N4) / 

Sungei Buloh Nature Park : 87 hectares designed as a conservation area for migratory birds. If you did not go to the Birdpark, try your luck here. / Open 7:30 to 19 / Bus TIBS 925 (Mond to Sat) from Kranji MRT Station / Admission S$1

Singapore Botanic Gardens : a favorite for serene walks and picnics, the garden also house the National Orchid Garden, the world's largest  orchid showcase (S$2) / Open 8:30 to 18 / Bus from Orchard MRT

East Coast Park : a popular beach to jog, cycle, roller blade, canoe, swim, windsurf or just relax
