Description : A
lao village situated after nong kiaw on the road to Viet Nam, nothing special
except that you won't find any tourist, just a genuine atmosphere
What to do ? Walking, take a bath in the river, learn thai-football
with children, talking with the only english speaking guile of the village
What you may not like ? waiting for hours your bus, the really
basic food and accomodation, nothing to do special
Where to stay ? Jungle hill cottage, situated just after the steps
to viewpoint, a bit off the town, quiet (important here), really nice room for
200 baths after bargain in november (begining of the hight season)
Where to eat ? with the only english speaking guile of the village, for cheap
Transport ?
To Nong Khiaw / 12000 kips / Bus / 2 hours / 2 or 3 per day
To Nam Noen / 30000 kips / Bus / 10 hours / 1 per night, should pass around
midnight, passed 4am finally (it came from Vientane). One day keep on phonsavan,
the other one go to sam neua / Really beautiful, but damn dangerous! (the
mountain road is totally destroyed between nong khiaw and nam noen - November
2002)
