The below agents were reported as offering cheap Chinese "Business" visa with the minimum fuss. Reliability was not  tested however :

• Sunrise International Travel Co Ltd (2890 9698, chinavisa@fm365.com), 13/F, Fair View Commercial Bldg, 27 Sugar Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong :   $450 for 6 months "Business" multiple entries (discount for Charitable work), $120 "Tourist" single entry, $200 "Tourist" double entry.  1.5 working days. Additional $30 for same day service. 

Post Office ?

The General Post Office is located west of the Star Ferry. This is where to go for poste restante. Like all the post office, it is open Mond-Frid 8 to 6pm, Sat 8 to 2pm, Sund. & PH closed.

Bookstore ?

For books, the best choice is offered by Cosmos Book (2866 1677) in Wanchai, 30 Johnston Rd. 

For magazines, go to Times The Bookshop in Central, Basement Haleson Bldg, 1 Jubilee St (2525 0043) or HK Club Bldg, 3 Jackson Rd (2525 8797)

Computer Hardware & Software ?

Wanchai Computer City, near the MTR Station and McDonald's on Hennessy Rd (intersection w. O'Brien Rd) / No more copy softwares available
